Chemical names: Nadolol
CORGARD Drug Use: Corgard is used in the treatment of angina, which is chest pain caused by lack of oxygen to the heart, and to reduce high blood pressure. Corgard is in a class of drug called a beta-blocker. When it’s prescribed for high blood pressure it’s effective when used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. Corgard decreases the force and the rate of contraction thereby reducing the hearts need for oxygen and lowering blood pressure.
CORGARD Drug Usage Instructions: This medication can be taken with or without food. You should take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It’s usually given once a day and must be taken on a regular basis or your condition may worsen.
CORGARD Storage Instructions: Corgard should be kept at room temperature in a moisture free environment and out of direct sunlight.
CORGARD Missed Dose: If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember unless it’s close to the time for the next dose, if this is the case skip the missed dose and continue on with the regular dosing schedule. Do not double up on doses.
CORGARD Side Effects: Some of the more common are: change in behavior, dizziness, weakness, tiredness, and changes in heart rate.
Special Precautions with CORGARD: Less common side effects are: asthma like symptoms, weight gain, vomiting, nasal stuffiness, headaches, slurred speech, dry skin, and constipation. If you have any of these or any other side effects not mentioned please contact your doctor.
