DESYREL Drug Use: The normal reason for treatment with Desyrel is depression.

DESYREL Drug Usage Instructions: You should take Desyrel shortly after a meal or snack. You will feel dizzy and lightheaded if you don’t take Desyrel with food. Usually given at bedtime because it causes drowsiness.

DESYREL Storage Instructions: Desyrel should be kept at room temperature, in a tightly sealed container and kept out of direct sunlight.

DESYREL Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of this drug, you should take it as soon as you remember if it’s too close to the time for your next dose, skip the previous dose and just continue with your regular dosage schedule. Do not double up on doses.

DESYREL Side Effects: The more common are: aches, pains, stomach disorder, abdominal problems blurred vision., pains in the muscles and bones, decreased appetite, fatigue, vivid dreams, vomiting, weight gain, low blood sugar just to name a few. Some of the less common effects are: anemia, bad taste in mouth, gas, illness, decreased sex drive, excess salivation. These are a few of the many side effects. If you experience any of these or others not mentioned tell your doctor immediately.

Special Precautions with DESYREL: Desyrel will cause drowsiness so the operation of machinery while on this medication is not recommended. Desyrel also has been associated with priapism( painful persistent erection)which can actually be quite serious.
