GLUCOPHAGE Drug Use: Glucophage XR is used as an oral anti-diabetic medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Glucophage XR helps to lower the blood sugar after a meal. Glucophage XR can also be used along with insulin for more sever cases. It is advised to take Glucophage XR with the doctor’s prescription.
GLUCOPHAGE Drug Usage Instructions: Glucophage is usually given 2 to 4 times a day according to the doctor's prescription. There is also a Glucophage XR formulation available now. Make sure to swallow whole Glucophage XR, do not crush or break.
GLUCOPHAGE Storage Instructions: Store Glucophage XR at room temperature. Take Glucophage XR with prescription and store it in a sealed container away from direct sunlight.
GLUCOPHAGE Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Metformin take as soon as you remember and keep a close watch on your blood glucose levels to see if an increased or decreased dose may be needed.
GLUCOPHAGE Side Effects: The more common side effects of Glucophage XR are: diarrhea, gas, headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness abnormal stools and chest discomfort. If you have any effects due to Glucophage XR at all contact your doctor and take Glucophage XR with the doctor's prescription.
Special Precautions with GLUCOPHAGE: Glucophage XR has been known to cause a very rare side effect known as lactic acidosis (potentially fatal build up of lactic acid in the bloodstream).
