Pronounced: HIGH-trin
Chemical names: Terazosin
HYTRIN Drug Use: Hytrin is used to treat high blood pressure. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications. Hytrin is also used for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This is an enlarged prostate that surrounds the urinary canal. It cal lead to the following symptoms: weak urination, urination delay, need to urinate often, and needing to urinate right away. Hytrin relaxes this so urination can occur.
HYTRIN Drug Usage Instructions: You can take Hytrin with or without food. It’s best to take at bedtime
HYTRIN Storage Instructions: Hytrin can be stored at room temperature, in a sealed vial and away from direct sunlight.
HYTRIN Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Hytrin you should take it as soon as you remember. If it’s too close to the next dose, skip the dose and resume regular schedule of hytrin. Do not double up on Hytrin doses.
HYTRIN Side Effects: The most common side effects are: dizziness, labored breathing, headache, heart palpitations, light headedness, nausea, stuffy nose, swollen wrists/ankles, weakness, anxiety, back pain, blurred vision, constipation, fluid retention, gas, gout, indigestion, sweating, vomiting, weight gain. If you have these or any others contact your doctor.
Special Precautions with HYTRIN: Do not take if allergic. It may take several weeks to get the full effect of Hytrin.
