LAMICTAL Drug Use: Lamictal is used to control seizures in people that have epilepsy. Lamictal can be used along with other anti-epileptics or this medication can also be used as a replacement for another anti-epileptic like Tegretol, Mysolin, and Dilantin.

LAMICTAL Drug Usage Instructions: The dose of Lamictal needs to be finely tuned by your doctor by your blood level. You will need to take several blood tests to determine that your blood is in the therapeutic level. You may develop a rash during the first 2 to 8 weeks of Lamictal therapy especially if you are taking the drug Depakene. Notify your doctor immediately if this happens due to this medication.

LAMICTAL Storage Instructions: Lamictal should be stored out of direct sunlight. Lamictal should be stored in a tightly sealed container at room temperature.

LAMICTAL Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of this medication take Lamictal as soon as you remember except if it's close to the time for your next dose, if this is the case skip the previous Lamictal dose and resume your regular Lamictal schedule with your doctor's permission.

LAMICTAL Side Effects: The most common side effects of Lamictal are: double vision, vomiting, sore throat, rash, sleepiness, headache, nausea, uncoordinated movements. Some other side effects of this medication include abdominal pain, tremor, anxiety, painful menstruation, and fever like symptoms, increased cough, and inflammation of vagina. If you experience any of these or others because of Lamictal, contact your doctor immediately.

Special Precautions with LAMICTAL: Do not take this medication if allergic to Lamictal or any of its constituents. Do not drive as Lamictal can cause drowsiness, especially in the beginning .There are some specific drug -drug interactions that you should discuss with you doctor and take Lamictal according to the doctor’s prescription.
