Drug Name: LASIX
Pronounced: LAY-six
Chemical names: Furosemide

LASIX Drug Use: Lasix is used as a water pill to increase water output to decrease blood pressure, and congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver and kidney disease. Lasix can be used alone but is usually used in conjunction with other medications to get better effects.

LASIX Drug Usage Instructions: It’s best to take Lasix in the morning as it is a water pill and will increase urination. If you take it at night you will have to get up all night long to urinate 10-20 times a night.

LASIX Storage Instructions: Keep Lasix at room temperature, in a tightly sealed container, and away from direct sunlight.

LASIX Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Lasix you should take it as soon as you remember unless it’s close to the time for the next dose, if this is the case, skip the previous dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not double up on doses.

LASIX Side Effects: Some of the more common side effects are: blurred vision, anemia, headache, itching, loss of appetite, low potassium, fever, diarrhea, dizziness on standing, hives, cramping, and high blood sugar. If you get any of these or others contact your doctor.

Special Precautions with LASIX: Do not take if allergic. Do not take if you have low potassium levels. Make sure your doctor knows if you have kidney disease, liver disease, gout, lupus, If you are allergic to sulfa drugs there is a chance you are allergic to Lasix
