MIACALCIN Drug Use: Miacalcin is used to decrease the rate of loss of calcium from the bones. It’s a man made form of calcitonin which reduces calcium loss from bones. So it helps control blood calcium levels. It is a nasal spray.
MIACALCIN Drug Usage Instructions: Usual dosage of Miacalcin is one spray in to one nostril one day and one spray to the other the next day. You must prime the pump before usage. You do not need to tilt you head back when you spray in the solution.
MIACALCIN Storage Instructions: Miacalcin should be kept stored in the refrigerator.
MIACALCIN Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Miacalcin you should take it as soon as you remember, except if it near to the time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the last dose and resume your regular schedule. Do no double up on your doses.
MIACALCIN Side Effects: The more common side effects are: joint pain, back pain, headache, sores, irritation, itching, small wounds, bleeding, nosebleeds. If you have any of these contact you Doctor.
Special Precautions with MIACALCIN: Do not take if allergic. Keep in the refrigerator. There have been cases of severe allergic shock so do a small test before using is recommended by the manufacturer.
