Chemical names: fosinopril sodium
MONOPRIL Drug Use: This is another ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure, and for congestive heart failure. It may be used alone or in conjunction with other high blood pressure medications, namely hydrochlorthiazide(water pill).
MONOPRIL Drug Usage Instructions: You must take it regularly for it to be effective. It’s normally a once a day tablet. Monopril can be taken either with or without food.
MONOPRIL Storage Instructions: Monopril should be stored at room temperature, in a sealed container and away from direct sunlight.
MONOPRIL Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Monopril take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the last dose and just resume your schedule, Do not double up on the dose.
MONOPRIL Side Effects: The most common side effects for Monopril are: cough, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, chest pain, low blood pressure, muscle and bone pain. If you experience any of these side effects or any side effects at all contact your doctor.
Special Precautions with MONOPRIL: If you get a sore throat or fever call you doctor right away because it could indicate a serious illness. If you get any swelling of the face lips etc call you doctor. If you have had any liver or kidney problems tell your doctor before he prescribes Monopril for you
