PENTASA Drug Use: Pentasa is used for inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis. There is a suspension available as well as tablets, and suppositories in Pentasa.
PENTASA Drug Usage Instructions: For the suspension use it at bedtime. Shake Pentasa well before use, uncover applicator tip, lie down on your side and insert into rectum, slowly discharge contents. Lie there for 30 minutes to allow if to dissolve. Try to retain the enema for a full 8 hours.
PENTASA Storage Instructions: Store all drugs at room temperature. Keep the drug away from direct heat, light, and humidity. Do not refrigerate Pentasa.
PENTASA Missed Dose: For the suppositories Pentasa are used twice a day. The tables are taken as per Doctors instructions and the severity of your condition.
PENTASA Side Effects: The more common side effects of Pentasa include: stomach pain, gas, flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, and dizziness. Others can be acne, back pain, constipation, chills, swelling or arms, fever, tiredness, weakness, rash, hair loss, insomnia and hemorrhoids. If you experience these or any other side effects due to this drug, contact your doctor.
Special Precautions with PENTASA: Take dose of the drug as soon as you remember. If it's too close to the time for the next Pentasa dose, skip the previous dose and resume regular Pentasa schedule. Do not double up on Pentasa doses.
