PROMETRIUM Drug Use: Prometrium is prescribed for postmenopausal women who are taking estrogen. Prometrium may also be used to restore menstruation if your menstrual periods have stopped.
PROMETRIUM Drug Usage Instructions: Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Prometrium is taken in the evening.
PROMETRIUM Storage Instructions: Store at room temperature, protect from light and moisture.
PROMETRIUM Missed Dose: Never take two doses at the same time. If you miss a dose of Prometrium, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular dosage schedule.
PROMETRIUM Side Effects: More common side effects may include: abdominal cramping, back pain, bloating, breast tenderness, chest pain, constipation, coughing, depression, diarrhea, dizziness, emotional instability, fatigue, headache, hot flashes, irritability, joint pain, muscle pain, nausea, night sweats, swelling of the hands and feet, upper respiratory infection, urinary problems, vaginal discharge, vaginal dryness, viral infection, vomiting, and worry. Other less common or rare side effects may occur and have been reported. Be sure to report any side effects to your Doctor. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Prometrium.
Special Precautions with PROMETRIUM: Do not take this medication if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it. Prometrium contains peanut oil, so you should not take it if you have an allergy to nuts or peanuts. Do not take if you are pregnant or have had an incomplete miscarriage, have ever had a blood clot disorder or stroke, have breast or genital cancer, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or severe liver disease.
