Drug Name: ZOCOR

Chemical names: Simvistatin

ZOCOR Drug Use: Zocor (Simvistatin) is used to treat high blood cholesterol, normally in addition to a cholesterol lowering diet. By decreasing LDL (bad cholesterol) Zocor (Simvistatin) (Delete it) decreases the chances of heart attack and stroke.

ZOCOR Drug Usage Instructions: Zocor is given once a day at nighttimes, usually at bedtime but can also be given with the evening meal. The normal daily dose of Simvistatin ranges from 5 to 80mg a day.

ZOCOR Storage Instructions: Store Zocor at room temperature, in a sealed container and away from direct sunlight.

ZOCOR Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Zocor take it as soon as you remember if it's too close to the time for your next dose skip the previous dose and resume your regular schedule.

ZOCOR Side Effects: The most common side effects are: headache and abdominal pain, constipation, gas, diarrhea, nausea, weakness, respiratory infection, and upset stomach. If you have any of these effects or others please contact your doctor.

Special Precautions with ZOCOR: Do not take Simvistatin drug if allergic to Zocor or any other cholesterol drug. If you have liver problems you should be very cautious when using Zocor. Also tell doctor if you have any muscle weakness.
