Chemical names: Quinapril and Hydrochlorothiazide

ACCURETIC Drug Use: Accuretic is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. It belongs in in class of drugs that are known as ACE Inhibitors. Accuretic also has a diuretic known as hydrochlorothiazide which sets Accuretic apart from Accupril.This diuretic increases urine production and helps to decrease blood pressure. Ace inhibitors work by not allowing angiotensin 1 from converting to a different form that is more powerful and will increase the retention of water.

ACCURETIC Drug Usage Instructions: Accuretic can be taken without regard to food. Accuretic is normally taken once a day at the same time of day. Always take Accuretic as directed by your doctor. Don't stop taking without the advice of your doctor. Accuretic needs to be taken on a regular schedule to get the most benefit.

ACCURETIC Storage Instructions: Protect Accuretic from light and extreme heat. Keep out of direct sunlight. Store Accuretic at room temperature.

ACCURETIC Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of Accuretic take it as soon as you remember except if it's near to the time for the next dose. If this is the case skip the dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule.

ACCURETIC Side Effects: Common side effects of Accuretic include headache, dizziness and some drowsiness. Also fatigue, coughing, stomach pain and nausea and vomiting can be present although are less common.

Special Precautions with ACCURETIC: Do not take Accuretic if you are allergic to either Quinapril or hydrochlorothiazide or if you have an allergy to sulfur. Don't take if you have had an allergic reaction to another ACE Inhibitor. If there are any unusual problems contact your doctor immediately
